I’m Dana Tierney.
So many beautiful words have been written about gardening, and here is one more:
“The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just on the body, but the soul.” – Alfred Austin
That is why I do it. It is my passion and something I grew to love at a young age. As children, we enjoying wandering through yards where pretty flowers grow and butterflies flit about. We learn in school how a seed can send its shoot up toward the sky and root the other way. Plants sense gravity somehow and can feel the pull of the earth. It’s an amazing gift of nature and why I love sharing each experience with my readers.
Gardening can be done by people of all ages. For some, it may seem intimidating, but it really isn’t. When you get into the soil, enjoy being in nature and learn to grow and cultivate plants, you will find there is no mystery. In fact, it’s quite relaxing and rewarding.
Gardening doesn’t require the fanciest tools or most expensive plants or an acre of land to succeed. I believe that gardening is where you want to be; it’s in a yard, on a patio, near a window box, on a balcony or even on a roof.
I really enjoy having a blog because it helps me chronicle my gardening adventures and share my information, musings and anything else that inspires you on your journey as a gardener. I feel that a garden is an extension of its owner. It grows each season and constantly changes, bringing enjoyment to those around it.
Through my photographs, stories, thoughtful tips and social media, I hope my knowledge helps you grow the garden of your dreams and you achieve the satisfaction I always feel when I step into my special spot. There is always something new to learn in the world of botanicals, and if you have the passion, you can create a thing of beauty.
I feel at home in the garden where it continuously beckons me. I love escaping outdoors, and maybe you do as well.
Thank you for sharing in all my gardening adventures. Thank you for your comments, for your support and for the warmth you give back to me. I am glad you are spending time on my blog and sharing in the glory of gardening.
